Architectural beauty out of Riga. And few more stories about making the ideas coming true.

The whole day we spend in Cesis city. He is considered as one of the most beautiful in Latvia. We did not have enough time to explore all of its lovely streets, but had enough to be inspired and promised to come back here again. So, my friends, going to Latvia, think not only about unique Riga but do not forget the small but very cosy town of Cesis.

We arrived in Cesis in order to explore the famous castle, which Latvians are very proud of.
The castle was built centuries ago to be a home and a fortress for the people. The history of the castle is long, if you are fond of it, you will certainly find a lot of information. But the best thing to do is to come. The beauty of the castle and its spirit are worth it.

 

We were also very lucky because of a young man named Gundars who told us everything about the castle with a true passion towards it. All his childhood he spent in the castle, watching the process of its restoring, the process of getting back its original face. He gradually was getting deeper into its history and just fell in love with it. Now his life is related to the castle: he gives all his time for its restoration and making it interesting for people to visit. And he as definitely succeeded. 

 

After visiting the castle we decided to see another interesting place – Art-Residency «Rucka» (http://www.rucka.lv/).

Young couple Kaspars & Ieva recently started implementing their project. The essence of it is to make a space where creative people of different kind can live, work, implement ideas and share experiences with brothers in trade. In fact, this is a good hostel, where people do art.
 

There are plenty small rooms for living, fully equipped kitchen for cooking, special rooms for working and creating, common lounge rooms and even a cinema hall. All in all, there is everything to realize your creativeness.

 The couple began restoring the abandoned building not long ago. They did it themselves and they did it very well. Sleeping rooms and other spaces look inspiring. And when they will be full of people with their heads full of ideas - that would be incredibly cool!
We were very pleased to communicate and exchange ideas and business cards.  We wish them to continue this way!

The upcoming night we wanted to spend it in the tent. We walked until the sunset and were rewarded for it. Twice. Even three times.
