Horses and People.

A week of silence due to the absence of the internet is now over and we continue the story.

During that time lot of things had happened, and all of them were– just wonderful.
As you do remember, we stopped our story at the horse farm in the town of Koceni.

Morning didn’t wait long to come, and were ready for a meeting with the animals.

The stable impressed us by its size: a platform for dressage, a few stables and special paddocks for walking horses.
After a short story of the place Maya took us straight to the horses – to a spacious green field where the animals spend most of their time.
Coming close we could see three dozen of beauties!

As soon as we passed over the fence, all horses at once run towards us, surrounded and started to caress us with their silky noses.
And it's such a very special feeling! I guess that my smile became twice wider and the heart became twice bigger.
Horses – are very curious, gentle and careful, special and incredibly beautiful.
Every animal is different in appearance, and the spirit of each is different too.

And it seemed to me that I found my friend there. All 30 minutes we were side by side. Just look what a beauty it is...
At first, we wanted to give a horse-candies (carrots, apples or pieces of sugar), but Maya said that if you sweet the life of one, others will fly to you immediately asking the same. And if they don’t get it, rebellion could not be avoided.
Well, a big carrot-bag will be surely ready for the next time.) Meanwhile, we can still present our caresses and attention.

Some time after we had a long talk with Maya about her horse family.
She loves those animals since her childhood, she rides horses and teaches others how to do it.
All horses for her are like children with their names, characters and habits.
Maya finds her happiness in breeding horses, and looking at the horses, there is no doubt - horses are happy too.
Maya said that in several decades two thirds of Latvian horses had disappeared. It is surely a sad fact but justified one: some people simply do not have enough money, some do not have much time. Horses need both. So we can say a big thank to Maya and her team for keeping this part of Latvian beauty and for sharing it with other people.

For me it was an amazing experience, which, I hope, will repeat one day. And I will pay a visit to my white-maned friend;)

The next destination is a small town - Vaidava. There's something that excites my heart, soul, and hands there :)
